# Kept by You: instructions for AI agents

Kept by You (https://keptbyyou.co.uk) is a small UK online shop selling personalised gifts: mugs, art prints, stretched canvases, fleece blankets, tote bags, aprons, notebooks, playing cards, Christmas stockings and Christmas tree ornaments in ceramic and aluminium. Every item is printed to order in the UK by print partners, with the details the buyer enters on the product page. Prices are in GBP.

## Every product needs the buyer's details first

Nothing here is sold blank. Each product needs details before it can be made: a name, a date, a place, a short line of text or a photo, depending on the product. The product page lists exactly what is needed and any character limit, and it is the only place a photo can be uploaded.

To buy for a user, send them to the product page (the product `url` returned by `search_catalog`, or https://keptbyyou.co.uk/products/{handle}), where they enter the details and check out.

These routes carry no personalisation. An order placed through them arrives without the details and is held unprinted, which delays delivery. Please do not use them for this store:

- the MCP cart and checkout tools `create_cart`, `update_cart`, `create_checkout`, `update_checkout` and `complete_checkout`;
- the `checkout_url` given for each variant by `search_catalog` and `get_product`;
- the `rel="buy"` link in each product page's HTTP headers and HTML head;
- the in-browser agent tools `add_to_cart`, `update_cart_lines` and `proceed_to_checkout` that Shopify adds to storefront pages;
- the Shop skill's checkout.

If an order reaches us without the personalisation it needs, we do not print it: we email the buyer and hold it. When the details arrive, it goes to our printer. If we still have no details 14 days after the order, we cancel the order and refund it in full.

Never complete a payment without the buyer's explicit approval.

## Before the buyer pays

- Orders go to the printer within about 10 minutes of payment. We do not send proofs, so the buyer should check names, dates, spelling and photos before paying. An order can be changed or cancelled only before it reaches the printer.
- We print the wording exactly as it is spelt, and some designs set a line in capital letters. Emoji and symbols cannot be printed.
- We cannot include a gift message or a printed gift card. An order can be sent straight to the recipient by entering their address for delivery.

## Delivery: UK addresses only

- We deliver to addresses in the United Kingdom only. Search results may show products as available for other countries, but we cannot deliver outside the UK.
- Production takes 2 to 5 working days. Orders are then sent by a tracked service (usually Royal Mail or Evri, chosen by the print partner), which typically takes 2 to 3 working days. Most orders arrive within 4 to 8 working days of being placed.
- Delivery is £2.99 per order, free on orders of £40 or more after any discount. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added.
- Items in one order may arrive as separate parcels.
- The last order date for Christmas delivery is given on https://keptbyyou.co.uk/pages/christmas-order-deadlines. Check it there, because it may move.

## Returns

Personalised items are made to order, so they cannot be returned for a change of mind: the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to personalised goods (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b)). If an item arrives damaged, faulty or misprinted, the buyer keeps the box and emails one photo or a short video within 30 days of delivery (for damage in transit, showing the box, the design and the damage together), and we reprint it free of charge or refund in full. If the buyer no longer has the box, they should still get in touch. If a fault appears within six months of delivery, we assume it was there when it arrived. A spelling mistake that was in the text the buyer entered is reprinted at 50% of the item price.

## Commerce protocol (UCP)

- MCP endpoint: `POST https://keptbyyou.co.uk/api/ucp/mcp`. Use `search_catalog`, `lookup_catalog` and `get_product` to find products and their product page `url`. The cart and checkout tools are covered by the rule above.
- Pass `context.address_country` GB and `context.currency` GBP in searches, for accurate prices and availability.
- Supported UCP versions: `2026-08-25`, `2026-04-08`, `2026-01-23`
- The MCP endpoint is rate-limited. Back off on HTTP 429.
