Wedding party thank-you gifts: bridesmaids, the best man and both sets of parents

The simplest thank-you for a wedding party is a gift with their role, their name and your wedding date: a mug that reads Bridesmaid, Best Man or Mother of the Bride, or a print that says thank you in words you choose. Order one for each person so they match on the morning. Everything below is printed to order in the UK.

In short:

Who to thank, and when

Wedding party gifts can be given at one of three moments, and the choice of gift follows from it:

  • When you ask them. A mug or a tote with their role on it can do the asking for you.
  • On the morning. Something to use that day: a tote for the shoes and the spare tights, or a mug for the first cup of tea while hair is being done.
  • Afterwards. Something to keep, with the date on it: a print, sent once the honeymoon is over.

Make a list first: bridesmaids, maid or matron of honour, flower girls, best man, ushers, page boys and both sets of parents. Then decide who gets what, so nobody is missed and nobody feels compared.

The wedding party mug: one design, every role

The Personalised Wedding Party Mug with Role, Name and Date is the one to order in a set, because one design covers the whole party. Choose the role from Bridesmaid, Maid of Honour, Matron of Honour, Flower Girl, Best Man, Usher, Page Boy, Mother of the Bride, Father of the Bride, Mother of the Groom or Father of the Groom. Add their name (up to 20 characters) and, if you like, your names (up to 30) and the wedding date.

The role is printed in our serif beneath a pair of rings, the name set large beneath it, your names in terracotta italic and the date in small capitals. It is printed on both sides of an 11oz white ceramic mug, dishwasher and microwave safe. Because every mug shares the layout, a row of them looks like a set in the photographs on the morning.

The bridal party tote: for the morning itself

The Personalised Bridal Party Tote Bag with Name is a light white 100% cotton tote (140gsm). Choose the role: Bride, Bridesmaid, Maid of Honour, Matron of Honour, Mother of the Bride or Flower Girl. Add her name (up to 20 characters), and we print the role large in forest green serif under a pair of rings, with the name in italic serif beneath.

It holds the shoes, the emergency kit and the spare tights, and it folds flat for the suitcase, so it suits the hen do as well as the day. Order one for the bride too, so she has one to carry. Handed over with a card, it can also be the way you ask.

The thank-you print: for afterwards

The Personalised Bridesmaid Thank You Print with Name and Date is the gift to send once it is all over. Add their name (up to 30 characters), a line naming their role and the two of you (up to 40), such as Bridesmaid to Hannah & Tom, and the wedding date. Then choose the closing line: Thank you for standing beside me, Thank you for everything, or I could not have done it without you.

The name is set large in forest green serif under two overlapping terracotta hearts, the role and date follow in small capitals, and the closing line sits beneath in terracotta italic. It is printed on 220gsm matte fine-art paper in 12 x 16 in (30.5 x 40.6 cm) or 8 x 12 in (20.3 x 30.5 cm), supplied unframed. Because the role line is your own words, it suits a best man or a mother of the bride as well as a bridesmaid.

For the parents

The mug with Mother of the Bride or Father of the Groom suits the morning. Afterwards, the gift they tend to want is a photograph from the day. The Wedding Photo Print with Names, Venue and Date prints one on 220gsm matte fine-art paper with a wide printed cream border, both your names in serif and the venue and date in terracotta small capitals beneath, in the same two sizes, supplied unframed.

Choose a different photo for each set of parents: the one with them in it. Ask the photographer for the original file rather than a social-media copy; the print needs at least 1,439 pixels on its shorter side. The rest of our wedding pieces are in our Wedding Gifts collection.

Ordering for a whole wedding party

  • Use one spreadsheet. List every name, role and how they spell it, and copy from the list into each order.
  • Keep the wording identical. Write your names and the date exactly the same way on every item, so the set matches.
  • Allow time. Each piece is printed to order in 2 to 5 working days, then sent tracked. If you order several items, they may be printed by different partners and arrive as separate parcels on different days. Delivery times are on our Delivery page.
  • Check, then pay. We print your wording as you type it, some designs set a line in capital letters, and we do not send proofs. Our FAQ explains how personalisation works.

Wedding party gift questions

Which roles are on the wedding party mug?

Bridesmaid, Maid of Honour, Matron of Honour, Flower Girl, Best Man, Usher, Page Boy, Mother of the Bride, Father of the Bride, Mother of the Groom and Father of the Groom.

Can the bridesmaid thank-you print be for a best man?

Yes. The role line is your own words, up to 40 characters, so it can read Best Man to Hannah & Tom or Mother of the Bride. The closing line is chosen from three.

Will all the mugs arrive together?

Not always. If you order several items, they may be printed by different partners and arrive as separate parcels on different days. Your tracking emails show which item is in which parcel.

When should I order wedding party gifts?

Well before you need them. Each piece is printed in 2 to 5 working days and then sent by a tracked service that typically takes 2 to 3 working days, so leave room for that and for checking every name.
